Vernacular names applied include kedondong (Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah), with various epithets, kembayu (Sabah), kerantai (Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah), pamatadon (Sabah), seladah (Sarawak) and senggeh (Peninsular Malaysia).
