About

Hilmi bin Awang is an experienced professional in the forestry and timber industry, with a career spanning over 27 years in marketing, operations, and sales. He began his career with Pesama Timber Corporation Sdn Bhd in 1992 and has since progressed through several significant roles within the GPB Group. With a strong foundation in forestry and extensive involvement in national timber associations, he is recognised for his leadership in strengthening industry standards, advancing compliance initiatives, and supporting sustainable timber development. Since 2017, he has served as the General Manager of Pesaka Trengganu Berhad, where he continues to drive operational excellence and industry advancement.

Through his roles, he advocates for responsible forest management, compliance with certification standards, and the empowerment of Bumiputera entrepreneurs in the timber industry. His long-standing participation in industry forums reflects his commitment to advancing Malaysia’s timber sector and supporting community-driven industry growth.
